It's Winesday, Bitches!

In case you didn't know, it's Wednesday...but around here, we call it Winesday!  We like wine…a LOT!  I will admit though (this is the Duck speaking), I am a cheap wine-o.  I like a tasty wine, but it’s has to be within a decent price range.  I tend to reach for the wines that have these awesome labels (ignore the fact that this is not actually a label for wine, you get the point).

$10 or less is what I typically spend per bottle…the big bottle that is! My go to is Barefoot Moscato (pink, white, or red…doesn’t matter to me).  I like Yellow Tail as almost a tie (the difference is that Yellow Tail has a bit of bubbly to it).  But I am trying to branch out….right now just to different brands of Moscato (I’m a bit of a pansy, but it’s ok…I make up for it with my liquors).  The other night, Kroger had 2/$10 on some wines, so I picked up Flip Flop Pink Moscato and The Naked Grape White Moscato.

I have had Flip Flop before, but it’s been a while.  It’s a little more dry, a little more twangy (there’s my one southern word for you—a combo of tangy and tart).  It didn’t provide a good buzz (even after 2 glasses….which was the equivalent of the whole bottle…SHHHH don’t tell my Mama I drank a whole bottle! It was the small one, I swear!) My buzz-o-meter is pretty weak, it usually only takes a nice glass to get me feeling the tingles. It was an ok wine, I would buy it again…on sale!

Tonight, I am trying Naked Grape, and YUM!!! The Biker got called back into work as soon as we got home, so I had to put my bra (UGH) back on and rode with him...Tervis Tumbler in hand (shhhh, I only sipped when the car was off).  This wine is light and clean with a sweet aftertaste.  I was VERY pleasantly surprised.  A fun little extra about this wine is that they have a "Naked Truth" on the label of every bottle.  My bottle reminded me that "You're never fully dressed until you put on a smile!"  Check it out next time you are at the grocery store.  You'll love it (or not...I don't really know, I was just channeling my inner LaVar Burton).

Also, don’t be afraid to pair wine with unorthodox foods…this was my dinner last weekend—don’t hate!

Give us a reason to drink…suggest a wine for us to try and review!
